Assessment and Promotion Criteria
Classes IX-X

1.  Scholastic Area
The Scholastic subjects i.e. English, Hindi, Mathematics, Environmental Studies (for Class III comprising of Science & Social Science) and Computer Applications will be graded on a 5-point grading system (O to D). Computer Applications will be assessed on the basis of practical knowledge of the concepts learnt.

2. Co-Scholastic activities
The Co-scholastic Activities like Music, Dance, Art, Sport Activities, General Awareness and Value Education will be graded on a 3- point grading system (A to C)

Points to be noted:

  1. It is compulsory for the students to appear in all Examinations/ Assessments. However, if a student remains absent on any exam day due to unavoidable circumstances or medical reasons, parents are requested to inform the school reception or mail at the school email ID on the very same day/ at the earliest.
  2. Minimum qualifying grade for each subject in scholastic domain is D.
  3. Retest will be conducted (only in one subject per cycle) only in the case of genuine Medical Emergencies/ On Duty/ marriage in first relation. In case of marriage prior approval is must (a copy of wedding card to be attached).
  4. Any Application/ Medical certificate with a request letter should be submitted within one week of the leave taken after which it will not be accepted and the student will be marked absent and awarded ‘Zero’.
  5. No student shall be allowed to take the Annual Examination unless he/she has completed 75% attendance.


Classes IV-V

1. SCHOLASTIC AREA
The Academic session comprises of two terms - Term-1 and 2

 
  1. Term End Exam (60 marks)

The school shall conduct 60 marks exam at the end of each term, as follows: -

  •  Half yearly exam will be conducted at the end of Term1 and shall include the syllabus covered till the announcement of exam.
  • Annual Assessment will be conducted at the end of Term 2 and shall include the entire syllabus of Term2 and also 10% syllabus of Term 1 covering significant topics.
  1. Periodic Test (40 marks)

The school shall conduct one periodic written test in the each term, carrying a weightage of 10 marks.

  1. Assignment/ CW/ HW / Notebook Submission (5 Marks)

The aim is to enhance the seriousness of students towards being regular in submitting assignments and home works. This also addresses the critical aspect of regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep.

  1. Subject Enrichment Activities (5 marks)

These are the subject-specific activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development of the students. These activities would be carried out throughout the term; however, evaluated at the term-end.

2. CO-SCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES
For the holistic development of the child, co-curricular activities like Visual and Performing Arts, Health and Physical Education will be graded on a 3 point grading scale (A to C). The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork would be the generic criteria for grading these activities.

3. DISCIPLINE
Students will be assessed for the discipline based on factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others.
